Pet Grooming: We have a purpose built grooming room for our rabbits and guinea pigs, heated and airconditioned for the summer. There are dedicated spacious accommodations for your pet, furnished with soft mats, hides, hay and water, either bowl or bottle while they visit. We do our best to create a stress free environment using classic FM as a sound pacifier, Pet Remedy as a calmer and gentle handling techniques, working at your pets pace.

Arrival time 11 am  Pick Up time 4pm

Please bring your pet in a sturdy, safe carrier (avoid cardboard boxes, wash baskets or open plastic crates)

Rabbit Grooming: this is advised to check for the general health of the bunny’s coat, but also during moulting to limit your bunny swallowing lots of fur when grooming themselves. Short hair breeds need brushed minimally weekly with a soft brush or hand mitt, Angora or long haired types require daily comb through to avoid excess matting, which can restrict your bunny’s movements and encourage unwanted visitors to their coats.

Whilst grooming we check the overall body condition, remove loose fur, clean scent glands and have a we look at their eyes and ears to identify any concerns. Dry wash conditioning treatments rabbit friendly are applied to their coats to clean debris if heavily soiled. If a bunny comes in with a faecal loaded bottom or their is excess matting which requires a longer treatment process, an additional charge will be applied, £10 for each 30 min period in excess of expected care requirements.

Pawdicure : Your bunny’s nails will grow continually, if they become overgrown this can become uncomfortable and painful for your bunny. Nail clipping is advised minimally every 6 to 8 weeks. We ensure your bunny is comfortable using safe hold and gentle coaching, Small clipping scissors or careful hand filing is used during your bunny’s pawdicure. If nails are dry emollient is applied to nourish them,

Guinea Pig Grooming: Regular grooming is essential for maintaining a guinea pigs health, comfort and hygiene. Grooming also allows for detection of any health issues. Short haired coats require grooming minimally weekly, Long haired coats require daily grooming. During grooming a small comb or trimmer for longer hair is used and excess fur and knotted hair is gently removed.

Routine grooms will include checking all paws and applying emollient to dry or inflamed skin, removing or reducing foot spurs, cleaning scents glands and  for older male guinea pigs cleansing of faecal overfill. Outer ears are also cleaned with cotton pads and oil. 

Bathing can be requested if their is a medical reason or the coat is very soiled, if mites are detected on comb through on arrival a bath in an anti mite treatment may be required for the safety of your pet and other guests. Your pets would be isolated from other guests. An additional bath and treatment fee of £15 will be applied to your final bill if this is required.

Nails/Feet: your guinea pigs nails require clipping every 6 – 8 weeks, your guinea pigs are held in a safe hold and small scissors are used or careful hand filing for those difficult to access curly nails. If the nails are brittle emollient is applied.
